What is a dietitian?
Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs)
APDs are university-qualified professionals that undertake ongoing training and education programs to ensure that they are your most up-to-date and credible source of nutrition information.
APDs can manage health conditions and diseases using food as Medical Nutrition Therapy. APDs help treat a wide range of conditions. Check out our services to see what we offer and how we can best assist you in your nutrition goals.
APD is the only national credential recognised by the Australian Government, Medicare, the Department of Veterans Affairs and most private health funds as the quality standard for nutrition and dietetics services in Australia.
Why see a dietitian?
You Should Come and See Us Because…
We can help:
- Assess individual nutritional needs
- Develop personalised eating plans
- Develop medical nutrition therapy plans
- Sort out nutrition fact from fiction
A referral is NOT necessary to see us although it may help us to understand your dietary needs and health background. Medicare initiatives provide rebates for visits to manage chronic health conditions under a care plan coordinated by a general practitioner (GP). This care plan is known as the GP Management Plan (GPMP) and Team Care Arrangement (TCA). Medicare rebates are available, although this must be claimed with your receipt at Medicare, following your consultation with us. Contact Us for further information on these care plans and Medicare rebates. Not all our services are Medicare rebatable.
